Low impact, speed, and precision were key to delivering this project on a restricted access site in Regent’s Park.

Porter’s Lodge continues our track record of delivering innovative designs within tight timelines that traditional methods can’t achieve, in locations that less flexible off-site systems can’t reach.

For JaK Studio, the BlokBuild system was the missing piece that unlocked the project’s success. As Architect Jake Low explains:

“Due to a lengthy planning and neighbourhood consultation process, the building needed to be delivered with great sensitivity. From the start, we envisioned using a prefabricated system that could be erected quickly. However, finding the right product and specialist subcontractor proved difficult. Everything came together when we discovered BlokBuild’s innovative system.”

As project partners, we focus on rationalising design to reduce cost, optimise buildability and lower carbon.

For Porter’s Lodge, the load-bearing capacity of our cassettes reduced the steel needed for the floor grillage and eliminated the steel from the original design for the roof and large glazed opening.

We delivered all components for the building in a single delivery and erected the weatherproofed superstructure in just 4 days using a minimal toolkit of cordless drills, mallets and hand-powered genie lifts.
